A Different Perspective Bark-Spective

February is American Heart Month and lucky for you, I know a thing or two about matters of the heart! You might wonder what in the world an English Bulldog could possibly know about heart health. My heart is not only healthy, it’s happier more than ever now that my best friend has finally found his exercise stride and we track my progress using the Poof Pet Activity Tracker.

It’s been a long time coming, but he finally listened to all my barking and decided to get serious about his health and it has been a positive change for the both of us.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in men and women, but the good news is having a pet like me can help when you keep us both active! Now we have so much fun tracking our activities and setting and meeting goals together. And, we have all kinds of adventures on our daily 30-minute walks.

In addition to exercise, the simple act of caring for me helps lower his stress level – which is helpful for that high blood pressure he has that I’ve been so worried about! He’s less inclined to struggle with depression because I am always there to cheer him up and help him shift his focus to something positive, me!

We’ve learned that being on this heart health journey together is exciting and it’s not just about his health, it’s about my health too! Pet health is directly affected by how active and connected the owner is to his 4-legged companion. I am a faithful exercise buddy and have even helped my best friend get out of his shell and meet new people.

I am so glad he finally saw it from my point of view and decided to spend less time on the couch and more time being active. He and I are just better together, especially from my perspective – even if it’s only from 6 inches off the ground.

That’s all for now!
